Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners is a 5G-enabled 1.5-mile autonomous vehicle test track and smart city living laboratory. A one-of-a-kind location to design, test and demonstrate the most advanced technologies of our age, Curiosity Lab is one of North America’s only real-world testing environments where people, autonomous vehicles and smart city technology interact each and every day. The Lab fosters open innovation by connecting academic, enterprise and startup technology leaders, and encouraging collaboration within its unique real-world setting filled with close to 8,000 workers and 1,000 residents.

The Lab is owned and operated by the City of Peachtree Corners as an economic development initiative, and also includes a 25,000 square foot innovation center to house both early-stage technology startups and corporate innovation teams focused on IoT, intelligent mobility and smart city technologies. In addition to its 1.5 mile autonomous vehicle test track (which is also a public road), the Lab is equipped with 5G connectivity, smart poles, DSRC units and a network operations control center. Additional infrastructure is added monthly as Peachtree Corners and the Lab identify new areas of interest and opportunities with innovative companies. The track itself is unique in that it has a 13% grade, curving alignment and mature shaded trees.
