The world’s most important design week
With over half a million visitors descending on the most iconic of all world design events, including the 59th edition of the Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone, there is nothing quite like the experience of attending Milan Design Week. The annual week of design that meets culture and business returns to the center of Milan for a program full of events, presentations, and special interest projects in abundance. Milan Design Week animates the entire city of Milan and establishes its future throughout the city’s main design districts, including having the endorsement and financial support of Milan’s powerful governing municipality. Each year Milan Design Week reenergises the city’s economic activity and future growth. For this feature, instead of just highlighting the trade activity we wanted to explore Milan’s street scene during what is perhaps the city’s most important week of the year.
Salone del Mobile
Considered the anchor of Milan Design Week and one of the city’s most important economic drivers, Salone del Mobile attracts over 380,000 attendees over six days from 181 different countries. The father of all design fairs lends it success to inclusive programming and its quest for new experiences each year.
