Africa Craftsmanship & Makers

Senegalese weaving passed down through generations

Woven by hand in West Africa, beautiful Senegalese baskets are detailed works of living architecture created by mothers and daughters. These modern baskets come in a variety of sizes & have a wide color palette. The user decides on how to use it, however every design is exceptional and typically used for household storage.

Artisanne baskets are a beautiful blend of traditional Senegalese weaving techniques, passed down from mother to daughter, and modern designs which combine to create household storage that is stylish, practical and highly distinctive. The larger baskets take several days to create and are made using sustainable ndiorokh grasses and long strips of repurposed plastic traditionally used for making bazin mats similar to prayer mats.
